The Roy A Hunt Foundation is made up of a diverse and engaged group of family members, united in an effort to make the communities in which we live a better place. For many years now, we have come together to support those in need, communities in distress, the environment and many other causes.
As trustees, we have the privilege of working with organizations across the country committed to these goals. It is through our work with talented, dedicated partner organizations that youth have access to opportunities for education and advancement, critical issues facing the environment are being addressed, and communities are safer. The leaders we work with are often extraordinary people and, without them, our work would not be possible.
In FY 17/18, we awarded a total of $3.3 million to non-profit organizations and schools across the country. The Roy A Hunt Foundation continues to prioritize organizations fitting into one of our four major initiatives: Environment, Youth Violence Prevention, International Development and Community Development. The work of these initiatives has contributed over $11.9 million to target communities over the past twenty-one years. Trustee sponsored general grants remain a critical piece of our grant strategy and provide diverse types of support to organizations across the country.
The Foundation’s endowment is currently $83 million, and we continue to search out socially responsible and additional investment tools that will help us to serve larger numbers of organizations. Above all, we are dedicated to maintaining our founder’s legacy of responsible investing and management practices.
My father, Richard M Hunt, is now 91 and the sole remaining member of the initial board of trustees.
He is still active in philanthropy and continues to guide us as the senior member of the Roy A Hunt Foundation. As we grow in trustee numbers, the opportunity to impact communities grows as well.
We are also now actively involved in deciding how to balance inclusion of family members with our mission of supporting those in need. We look forward to another year of working together and trying to leave the world a better place.
As always, feel free to contact our office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 412.281.8734 if you have questions.
